Happy Birthday to Daddy

October is a very important month for us as two significant occasions fall in this month - Daddy and mummy's dating anniversary and daddy's birthday! We had a simple but heartwarming celebration with me celebrating with them for the first time.

Although we have been to T3 umpteen times, this was the first time we went during the day. Daddy and mummy wouldn't want me to miss the chance of seeing the aeroplanes.

Mid Autumn Festival

This was my first time celebrating Mid Autumn Festival. We went to a mini gathering at my paternal great-grandmother's place and celebrated the occasion with my relatives. I was not in a good mood as too many people were around trying to talk to me and amuse me at the same time while I was having my dinner. It was too distracting so daddy and mummy brought me away to a quieter place to finish my meal before joining them again.

Yet another trial class

It was a lazy Sunday morning on 27th September. I have to sacrifice my beauty sleep to attend my class at Kindermusik.

The class started at 10a.m. and we were 10 minutes late despite daddy's record of reaching Tanglin Mall in about 10-15 minutes (Thanks to the smooth traffic condition). All the other babies have already finished their warming up and started shaking the maracas along with the music. I cried the moment I was seated with mummy as she passed my maracas to me. I was overwhelmed by the loud noise and the unfamiliar surrounding as I missed the warming up session at the beginning.

Mummy showed me around the room and comforted me. Very soon, I smiled to her and we joined in the fun.

Look! I was looking intently at the instructor demonstrating with the drum. I like scratching instead of hitting the drum.


Verdict: I enjoyed myself more at Stage n Such. Mummy thought so too. Anyway, she is going to arrange for another few more trial classes at Gymboree, My Gym etc. before deciding on which to sign up.

How I spent the September term break with mummy (Part 2)

9th Sep 2009 (Wednesday)
- Stage n Such Trial Class
I attended my first class with babies Trishelle, Kirsten, Hong Yi, Janelle and three other baby girls whom I couldn't recall their names. Hong Yi and I are the 'thorns' among the 'roses'.
We started the lesson with free time to roam around, playing with the toys on the mat, getting familiar with the surrounding.
Tuning in activity
- sang a welcome song and observed mummy's various facial expressions in the mirror.
Lesson Development
- Share-book-reading with the story "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle.
- Explore the senses with playing with whipped cream, drawing with coloured ice cubes, playing with shaker. I was stripped half naked and my hands were dyed in blue and red. haha..
- Sing and dance along with songs like "The Wheels On the Bus" and "Insey Winsey Spider"
Closure
- Sing a goodbye song
- Tour around the outdoor area with pool facilities for water play.

The lesson lasted for an hour and I was thoroughly engaged. I was so stimulated that I became exhausted and slept immediately thereafter.

- COMEX
Daddy and mummy brought me to COMEX early before the afternoon crowd came in. Daddy and mummy both agree that I am a gadget lover as I am particularly interested in their handphones, PDA, laptops, remote control etc. more than some of my toys.

How I spent the September term break with mummy (Part 1)

Where should I start? Tell you what, mummy and I spent so much quality time together during her September term break. She developed separation anxiety again after the break and could not wait for the year end school holidays to come!

5th Sep 2009 (Saturday)
- 6th month bash for March 09 mummies
Mummy has been participating in Singaporemotherhood forum since her pregnancy days and it was a great opportunity to catch up with the other mummies and babies.






7th Sep 2009 (Monday)
- Mini gathering at Auntie Lena's place
Mummy finally got to meet up with Auntie Pauline and Auntie Lena. They last met at daddy and mummy's wedding dinner. I was kept busy watching kor kor Isaac and kor kor Gabriel roaming around. How I envy them. I wonder when it will be my turn running around freely like them.

8th Sep 2009 (Tuesday)
- East Coast Park
Daddy was on reservist and returned home early. Po Po happened to pop by our place because she missed me so much as she last saw me on Friday. Mummy wanted to go out. So, Po Po suggested going to the ECP. Mummy took over the set of wheels from Daddy and off we went to enjoy a relaxing evening by the beach.

My feeding schedule at 6 months

Time files and I am already more than half a year old. After I started on solid food on my 5th month, my feeding schedule and amount for consumption has changed. Here is my typical schedule when it comes to eat, chew, burp..

Elijah's Feeding Schedule for 6th month
5.30 a.m. 220ml of milk
9.00a.m. small piece of biscuits + water
10.30 a.m. 220ml of milk
1.30 p.m. 1/2 to 3/4 bowl of cereal + puree* + 50ml milk
4.30 p.m. 150ml of milk
7.30 p.m. 1/2 to 3/4 bowl of cereal + puree* + 50ml milk
11.30 p.m. 220ml of milk

*apple, pear, pumpkin, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, spinach and fish purees are what I normally have. Sometimes, I will have banana and carrot.

Of course, this is just a guideline and I will tend to consume more or less depending on my mood and appetite.

Here a picture of mummy and me when we waited for our turn at Dr Ong's clinic for my final 6 in 1 jab. I weigh 7.7kg and measure 67.5cm long at 6 months 2 days old.

My Jumperoo

Mummy decided to invest in a jumperoo for me and luckily, I learnt to appreciate it gradually. Look at how intrigue and excited I am with the lights, music and the toys. I especially enjoy the feeling of bouncing up and down. I can also spin the toys well.



I am Mummy's little sweetie. Her heart will melt whenever I smile..
