When Elijah meets Isaac

Mummy and auntie Mei Yin have thought about letting us meet during their maternity leave since their pregnancy days. Finally, the day has come for me to see baby Isaac.

Mummy introduced me to di di Isaac but I remembered her telling me when I was in her womb that I will meet gor gor Isaac. gor gor becomes di di is making me confused. Mummy later explained to me that I was too eager to see the world and thus turned out to be older than Isaac by one day instead of being younger than him by a month.

T3

I overheard daddy and mummy's conversation about bringing me to T3. I thought I hear T three or tea tree and I was really confused. I was wondering where on earth this place is. The answer was revealed to me when we reached Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 and I knew I was not going to some tea tree plantation. Heehee..

In fact, mummy told me this was not the first time I went. I had been there when I was still in mummy's womb in november last year. Here is the evidence mummy showed me. I was snuggled comfortably inside mummy then.



Daddy and mummy had their dinner first followed by me. Then we went around T3 leisurely taking lots of picture along the way.





I really enjoyed myself in such a cool, quiet and spacious environment and soon fell asleep.

Fearless for the needles

I took my 5 in 1 vaccination and rotarix with Dr Ong on the same day as my 3 months assessment. Mummy had initially wanted me to take 6 in 1 but Dr Ong advised not to as it is too lethal for small babies and the tendency to develop a fever is very high.

Dr Ong was so skillful and swift while giving me the injection that I did not cry at all. I still smile at Mummy when she picked me up. Mummy and po po praised me for being a brave boy. However, when the nurse administered the oral dose of rotarix using the syringe, I fussed and shook my head.

I was prescribed a bottle of antidote for fever and mummy had to monitor my temperature for the next 24 hours. The trigger temperature for fever is 38 degree celsius when taken with a ear thermometer or 37.5 degree celsius when taken at the arm pit.

Mummy conscientiously took my temperature and thought that I might not have a fever after all since 20 hours had passed. She had a shock of her life when she stared at the digital display. It read 38.4!

She reacted very fast by feeding me the medicine, sponging me and putting the cooling pad on my forehead. My temperature dipped to 37.6 half and hour later and mummy was so relieved. I could play and smile at mummy. All thanks to mummy for taking care of me.

Feeding stress

Mummy brought me for my vaccination and 3 months assessment on 19 May 2009. She has been looking forward to this day as she needs to get some assurance from my paediatrician regarding my feeding habits and growth. She is very concerned about me drinking lesser than when I was one month old. I used to drink about 120ml of breast milk/formula 7 to 8 times a day. But right now, I am only consuming 150ml 5 times a day. I also do not really like to drink milk and will cry and refuse to suckle. Mummy will need to spend about an hour to feed me most of the time.

Dr Ong said it is normal for 3 months old babies to drink lesser than before and reassured mummy that different babies have different feeding habits. He said some babies need to be half asleep or suckle on the pacifier on and off while feeding. It is still considered normal and should not be a cause of concern. Mummy was so relieved to hear that and tears were welling up in her eyes as she recalled the stress and worries she experiences everyday when she feeds me.

In fact, he mentioned babies' weight gain will slow down at this stage and should double their birth weight when they reached 4 months. I have already doubled and Dr Ong told mummy not to feel stressed or compare my weight with other babies who were born heavier. Mummy hopes that this is just a passing phase and I will soon be drinking well.

I weighed 6kg at 3 months 2 days old.

Babies, babies and more babies

15/5/2009 was the first time I heard so many babies cooing and babbling at the same time. Could you believe it? More than twenty babies were gathered together at the same time. Mummy thought it was good for me to meet up with other babies of my age. It is a pity that we are all too young to interact or play with one another, so mummy is looking forward to such gathering in near future when we are all able to sit and crawl around. It will be real fun!

Mothers' day this year has become more meaningful to mummy as I am here to celebrate with her. After becoming a mother, mummy can relate all the love, joy, tears, sacrifices, hardship and patience my po po has experienced bringing her up. Mummy hopes that one day I will appreciate and understand that her love for me is always unconditional. We celebrated mothers' day with po po earlier. We took the train directly from our place to Harbourfront station. It was so convenient. This was not my first ride on the train (I took the MRT to Kovan, Hougang and Sengkang with mummy before) but definitely the longest. I was very excited and was interacting with po po and mummy.

Happy mothers' day to my dear po po Then we celebrated mothers' day for mummy on another day. Mummy likes the catchy lines of this T-shirt and thus could not resist to get it for me. However, she thought I should have worn something with a slogan like "Mummy is my idol" etc. which is more appropriate for this occasion. The day started off with daddy driving us to Raffles City to get mummy's present from KS. Mummy says she will treasure this gift because daddy rarely gets her a present. However, mummy says the best gift she has ever received is ME! As usual, I can easily fall asleep when there is motion. So naturally, I slept throughout the shopping trip and coincidentally flashed a smile while mummy took this picture of daddy and I. We left Raffles City in the evening and paid a visit to my paternal grandparents' place. What a long but eventful day!

Whenever daddy and mummy ordered sambal kangkong, cereal prawns and prawn rolls from any stalls or restaurants, they always have this comment - nothing beats those at Chin Chin. Chin Chin has always been their favourite dining place for chinese food since their dating days. Chin Chin wins hand down with their taste, price, variety and not forgetting the serving size.

On the way for dinner at Purvis Street. I will always sleep in the car because I like the motion and the air-con.


Huge servings for two but daddy and mummy could finish. They must be gluttons.
